BD - 03

Who don’t want to visit Pura Besakih, the mother of all temples in Bali? We believe no one. An extensive complex consisting of 23 individual temples, Besakih is definitely not a highlight to miss. This package will take you to the temple and explore every part of it.

Even greater, it is also combined with other interesting sites including the Elephant Cave and the ancient judicial court of Kerta Gosa. But first, let’s enjoy a gallery of painting and wood panel carving at Batubulan village before hitting the highlight of the trip.

Itinerary (L)

  • Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning.
  • The trip will start in Batuan village in Central Bali. Just like Ubud, Batuan is home to many Balinese skillful artisans who produce distinctive painting and wood panel carving.
  • It’s also famous for the ancient Gambuh dance which is performed every Full Moon day.
  • The next destination is Goa Gajah temple or Elephant Cave located on the cool western side of Bedulu village.
  • The name of Goa Gajah comes from an elephant-shaped rock-wall carving leading to a central meditational cave. There are also bathing pools and fountains in its relic-filled courtyard.
  • Do you know there is an ancient justice court in Bali? We’ll take you there now. Named Kerta Gosa, the prime building sits in the middle of a pond with a roof decorated with traditional painting style of Kamasan (a village in Klungkung).
  • We’re then heading farther north to Bukit Jambul.
  • Bukit Jambul is a highland which becomes a perfect viewpoint to enjoy the beautiful panorama of rice terraces dotted with palm trees in Karangasem.
  • Lunch will be served at Bukit Jambul restaurant.
  • Our last destination today is Besakih temple located on Karangasem highland. Besakih is the mother temple of all in Bali which features an extensive 23 separates temple complex.
  • Looming behind Pura Besakih is the sacred Agung Mountain which adds more mystical sense to the temple.
  • This is the end of our tour and we will drive you to your hotel.
