Jogjakarta has very rich history of religion and was a city of monarchy. That is why Jogjakarta is filled with many temples built as early as the 8th century. The Prambanan temple or Roro Jonggrang Temple for example, is not only the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia but also one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. As you walk around these ancient temples you will discover many ancient art and aesthetic still preserved until today. We’ve included in this trip, two temples that has gained UNESCO recognition – the Borobudur Temple and the Roro Jonggrang Temple.

 

Apart from temples that communicates history and art, Indonesia is blessed with beautiful sceneries of nature. In Jogjakarta, the Dieng Plateau is the place to be. We’ll be there early in the morning for the Golden Sikunir sunrise – the best destination in the archipelago to see natural beauty. Watch the mist will slowly descend and disappear along with the rising of the sun among the white clouds.

 

Another highlight of this trip is during your stay at Losari hotel which is next to a plantation of coffee and cocoa. Discover a 22 hectares wide of Robusta coffee plantation. As you walk around the field, our guide will explain everything you need to know about the organic Robusta grown. Will we get to taste this freshly grounded coffee? Of course!

 

It’s a beautiful 6 day trip. There will be sightseeing, there will be easy cycling activities around the Prambanan rice fields, beautiful sceneries, magical sunrise, and fresh coffee. Day 01 : Arrival Jogja - Borobudur (L)

  • Our tour guide will pick you up when arrive at Adisucipto Jogjakarta Airport.
  • Have lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Check in at the hotel at 2pm.
  • We will still have time to explore two small temples near Borobudur.
  • The first is Pawon Temple, located between two other Buddhist temples, the Borobudur temple and Mendut Temple.
  • Our second temple is Mendut Temple – a pyramid shaped temple housing three impressively carved stone statues.
  • Stay overnight at hotel around Borobudur area.
  • Dinner at hotel is optional.

Day 02 : Sunrise Borobudur - Candirejo - Wonosobo (B,L,D)

  • We’ll wake up early in the morning so we will not miss the sunrise in Borobudur temple.
  • From the top of Borobudur temple, sunrise is the most mystical time to see the temple, let us soak in the tranquil, amazing view of the sunrise.
  • The tour continues exploring the temple to see beautiful reliefs found in the temple.
  • Our next destination is Candirejo Village, located near the famous Borobudur temple.
  • We will explore the village by foot or by Javanese horse carriage known as dokar.
  • Discovery the variety activities of the local villagers.
  • Have a chat with them and get a closer look into the culture and way of life in this Javanese village.
  • Discover their traditional houses, hear the villagers play Gamelan – Java traditional music while some other villagers harvest vanilla and chilli.
  • Once we finish exploring this village, we will drive back to the hotel for a check out.
  • We’ll be transferring to Wonosobo where we stay overnight.

Day 03 : Sikunir - Dieng Plateau - Ambarawa (B,L,D)

  • We’ll visit Dieng Plateau early in the morning for Golden Sikunir sunrise.
  • Sikunir is one of the best destinations in the archipelago to see natural beauty.
  • From the top of Sikunir hill, you are offered beautiful landscapes.
  • Early in the morning is the perfect time to see sunrise.
  • The mist will slowly descend and disappear along with the rising of the sun among the white clouds.
  • Continue to walk down and reach the beautiful Telaga Warna Lake famous for its unique emerald green water.
  • We’ll also visit nearby spots such as the Sikidang Crater, Bima Temple (The biggest temple in Dieng), and the Arjuna temple complex (The oldest temple on Java Island).
  • Let us now proceed to Ambarawa.
  • Dinner will be served at local restaurant.

Day 04 : Gedong Songo - Losari Plantation - Jogjakarta (B,L,D)

  • Nearby our Losari hotel, enjoy the mini plantation of coffee and cocoa.
  • Discover a 22 hectares wide of Robusta coffee plantation.
  • As you walk around the field, our guide will explain everything you need to know about the quality of organic Robusta grown on this property.
  • At the coffee shed, you’ll witness traditional techniques of roasting and bean grinding.
  • There are traditional coffee roasting machines, coffee beans breaking machine, and coffee grinder machine.
  • Don’t worry, we’ll make a stop and enjoy a tasting session of their coffee.
  • Check out from the hotel and continue our journey to Gedong Songo temple, an ancient complex of Hindu temples at an altitude of 1200 m on the slope of Mt. Ungaran.
  • Silent, peaceful, and mysterious are the words best describe Gedong Songo temple.
  • Originally built during the 8th and 9th century in the period of Medang Kingdom which then controlled Central Java.
  • You can ride a horse to reach the mountain top for a chance to roam among the ancient monuments, offering spectacular views of many volcanoes that form the landscapes of Central Java highlands.
  • We’ll proceed to Jogjakarta in the mid afternoon.
  • Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.
  • The evening is free time, you may want to explore Jogja during night.

Day 05 : Kaliurang - Cycling Prambanan - Prambanan (B,L)

  • This morning we start the day with a trip to Kaliurang village.
  • Situated 30 km from Jogjakarta, 900 meters above sea level, the site offers stunning view of Mt. Merapi.
  • Visit the Ullen Sentalu heritage museum of Java art and culture.
  • Enjoy the eco friendly building and peaceful ambience of the surrounding.
  • Relax your mind and release your stress.
  • Discover collection of arts, batik, and gamelan are tribute of the Mataram Palace.
  • We’ll have our lunch at local restaurant before our cycling tour.
  • The cycling tour will take place in the countryside surrounding rice fields of Prambanan Temple.
  • The route starts from Sambisari Temple to Southern fields of Mataram ditch towards the temple.
  • Witness farmers activity of planting rice and plowing fields.
  • After 2 hours of bike traveling through the nature of countryside surrounding Prambanan, the cycling trip will finish at Plaosan temple.
  • Continue our trip to Prambanan or Roro Jonggrang temple – the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia built in 850 AD.
  • As optional tour, you can also visit to Ratu Boko temple, where we will trek to the scenic spot and enjoy beautiful sunset from the temple and view of Jogja city.
  • Head back to the hotel and the time is yours to spend.
  • Dinner is optional.

Day 06 : Jogja City Tour - Airport / Next Destination (B,L)

  • Our last day in Jogja, we will be visiting Sultan Place Kraton – a grand an elegant example of Javanese architecture, along with the Sultan and Royal court traditional seat.
  • The complex consists of low-lying buildings such as audience halls, museums, and the residences of the Sultan and the Queen.
  • We will then visit Taman Sari Water Castle – a site of former royal garden of Sultanate Jogjakarta.
  • Located 2km south within the grounds of the Kraton, Jogjakarta.
  • This site was built in mid 18th century, it was used as multiple functions such as resting area, workshop, meditation area, defense area and a hiding place.
  • The name Taman Sari means an area of beautiful garden adorned with flowers.
  • Lunch is enroute.
  • We will drop you off at Adisucipto Jogjakarta Airport / you next destination.
