Heart of Java tour is a 6 day trip of 2 nights at Jogja, 1 night in Borobudur and 2 nights in Solo. It’s a trip filled with the wonders and famous sites of Central Java.

 

Besides Jogja, Solo is also a famous and unique city located in Central Java. One of the main attractions in Solo is Cetho Temple – an isolated 15th century temple. The Cetho temple is most beautiful temples in the region. Complete with unusual fertility carvings and Hindu elements, it is a multi-tiered temple in its architectural layout.

 

A short visit to Batik Danar Hadi will give you good insight to another world famous heritage of Indonesia’s Batik where you will learn about Solo’s traditional hand-waxing and batik dying techniques. Aslo while in Solo, don’t forget to ask for the nationwide famous snack called Serabi Solo – cake made of rice flour. Yum!

 

We’re excited to bring you to the famous Mt. Merapi during our second day. We’ll embark on a lava tour surrounding Mt. Merapi riding classic Jeep Willy. There’s also a relaxing cycling tour around Prambanan. The route will take place in the countryside and the surrounding rice fields of Prambanan Temple. Enjoy the 2 hours of beautiful and relaxing cycling tour.

 

Visit beautiful and historical temples rich with history and stories of the founders of Jogjakarta. The temples you visit were built ranging from the 8th to 13th century. Take a closer look at the beautiful carvings and artistry the ancestors have put into building these historical monuments.

 

While there are still many others, one destination we feel we need to mention is that the Borobudur Sunrise is also included in this tour. Borobudur temple is famous worldwide and during this trip we do not only take you sightseeing, but we’ll take you here to experience sunrise at the top of Borobudur temple. Many people say, sunrise is the most mystical time to see the Borobudur temple.

Day 01 : Arrival Jogjakarta – Jogja Sightseeing (L)

  • Our guide will pick you up at Adisucipto Jogjakarta Airport and bring you to lunch at a local restaurant.
  • We’ll then visit Sultan Place Kraton, a grand and elegant example of Javanese architecture, along with the Sultan and royal court traditional seat.
  • The complex consists of low-lying buildings such as audience halls, museums, and the residences of the Sultan and the Queen.
  • Up next on our list is a visit to Taman Sari Water Catle – a site former royal garden of the Sultanate Of Jogjakarta, located about 2km south within the grounds of the Kraton.
  • Built in mid 18th century, Taman Sari had multiple functions, such as a resting area, a workshop, a meditation area, a defense area, and a hiding place.
  • The name Taman Sari means an area of beautiful garden adorned with flowers.
  • Transfer to hotel for check in.
  • Have a free time in Malioboro Street at night. It is a major shopping street in Jogjakarta.
  • The sidewalks on both sides of streets will be crowded with small stalls selling variety of goods.
  • Dinner is optional.

Day 02 : Merapi Lava Tour - Leisure Cycling - Prambanan Temple (B,L,D)

  • You adventure experience starts today.
  • After breakfast, we’ll depart to Mt. Merapi for Lava tour with the classic Jeep Willys – roughly a 1 hour trip.
  • Merapi tour package is a package of nature interest.
  • We will be visiting the rest of the eruption site at Merapi cold lava: Opak, Stone Alien, Kali Gendol, Hamlet Kaliadem, Cover Material Kaliadem Merapi eruption in the village of Pasir Gumuk Petung, and Tomb Bulk Merapi Victims.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant prior to the cycling tour.
  • The cycling tour will take place in the countryside and surrounding rice fields of Prambanan Temple.
  • The route starts from the pages of Sambisari Temple to southern fields of the Mataram ditch towards the temple.
  • Take a look at farmers activity, planting rice and plowing fields.
  • After 2 hours of bike travel, the cycling trip will end at Plaosan Temple.
  • Moving on to our next trip, we’ll be visiting Prambanan or Roro Jonggrang temple – the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia, and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia.
  • The Prambanan temple was built on 850 AD.
  • At this point, we offer you an optional tour to Ratu Boko Temple, where we will trek to the scenic spot to enjoy beautiful sunset view from the temple and the view of Jogja city.
  • Head back to the hotel, the rest of the day until dinner is yours to spend.
  • Dinner at local restaurant.
  • In the evening after dinner time we’ll take you to see the show of Ramayana Prambanan Ballet.
  • The Ramayana ballet tells the story of a legendary epic, presented in a series of graceful dance movements accompanied by gamelan music orchestra (Traditional Javanese instruments).
  • Stay overnight in hotel in Jogja.

Day 03 : Dieng Plateau Sightseeing (B,L,D)

  • Morning after breakfast we depart to Dieng Plateau.
  • Travel time is approximately 3.5 hours long through Wonosobo City.
  • Dieng Plateau is an upland volcanic plain in Central Java – famous for its scenery and ancient Hindu Temples.
  • The temples were built from 8th to 13th century by Sanjaya Dynasty and resemble those of Prambanan but on a smaller scale.
  • We will walk down to the shores of the beautiful Telaga Warna Lake with its amazing emerald green water.
  • Aside from Telaga Warna Lake, there’s also Sikidang Crater, Bima temple (The biggest temple in Dieng), and the Arjuna temple complex (The oldest temples on Java island).
  • After exploration of Dieng Plateau, we will proceed to hotel located near Borobudur or Magelang.
  • Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel.

Day 04 : Sunrise Borobudur - Candirejo Village - Solo (B,L,D)

  • Wake up early this morning to catch the Borobodur sunrise.
  • This is the most mystical time to see the temple.
  • As the sun raises over the structure, you will feel a tranquil atmosphere and enjoy an amazing view of sunrise from the top of the temple.
  • The tour continues as we take closer look at the beautiful relief at this temple.
  • We’ll be visiting Candirejo village and get a tour of the village by foot or by horse cart ride , known as dokar.
  • Discover the variety of things to see and do.
  • Have a chat with the villagers and get closer look at their activities such as playing the gamelan or harvesting vanilla and chilli.
  • Before leaving for Solo, we will visit two temples near Borobudur called Mendut and Pawon Temple.
  • Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, we’ll make a short stop at Ketep pass – a view point to see volcanoes in Central Java.
  • You’ll be able to see the 5 largest volcanoes of Central Java: Mt. Merapi, Mt. Merbabu, Mt. Sumbing, Mt. Sindoro, and Mt. Slamet.
  • Take pictures and enjoy the fresh mountain air surrounded by green fields.
  • Drive to Solo via Selo Village, passing through the valley between Mt. Merapi and Mt. Merbabu, you will get another treat of beautiful scenic view.
  • In the evening we’ll have dinner in a restaurant in Solo.

Day 05 : Cetho Temple - Sukuh Temple - Solo Sightseeing (B,L,D)

  • After breakfast, we’ll ascend through scenic mountain roads to reach the isolated 15th century Cetho Temple – rarely visited but one of the most beautiful temples in the region.
  • Complete with unusual fertility carvings and Hindu elements, it is a multi-tiered temple in its architectural layout.
  • Take a 1.5 hour trek along small village paths wandering across vegetable and fruit plantations often tendered by the locals.
  • This is a leisure trek which will take you to variety of landscapes in the cool mountain air.
  • Nearby, we’ll also visit Sukuh temple.
  • Explore this unique temple with stone carvings of Hindu phallic symbols.
  • Its pyramidal shape is similar in style to the Mayan temples of Central America.
  • Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
  • Continue to Kraton Mangkunegara which was built in 1757 after a bitter struggle against the founder of Surakarta.
  • Visit Kraton Surakarta, also called the Kasunanan built in 1745.
  • After which we’ll visit Batik Danar Hadi, a good place to come and learn more about Solo’s traditional hand-waxing and dying techniques.
  • Batik has been a part of Indonesian cultures since hundreds of years ago.
  • Indonesian batik is one of the world heritages.
  • Back to hotel, dinner at local restaurant.

Day 06 : Transfer Out (B)

  • Morning after breakfast you will be picked up and transfer back to Jogja City/airport or next destination to East Java.
