Jogja is a very famous city in Central Java. On the surface, Jogja is well known for the many temples found in the city. It houses many temples, some built as early as 8th century. The Prambanan or Roro Jonggrang temple for example, is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia and one of the biggest ins Southeast Asia and also labeled as one of UNESCO World Heritage spot.
But there’s one particular temple that has also gained recognition from the UNESCO. You might have heard of it, the temple is called the Borobudur temple. One will wonder how such complicated structures were built in the 8th century. In total, the temple was built from total of 2 millions sculpted volcanic rocks that interlock each other.
